It is with great sadness to announce that all spring athletics have been cancellled for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.

Based on Friday's statement by the CIF that all state, regional and section championships are cancelled due to the current situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the WCAL, in working with its member schools, has cancelled all remaining spring events for this school year.

These are difficult times and this particular situation is incredibly disappointing for our student-athletes, especially our seniors who had their final high school season cut short.

We share in their disappointment and appreciate all that they have meant and continue to mean to our school community. Working with the young people who are entrusted to our care and helping them grow while making memories on the courts and fields is what all of us at Archbishop Riordan Athletics love to do. Not being able to participate in the traditional athletic activities has and will continue to be a challenge to endure.

We are looking to find ways to honor these senior student-athletes throughout the remainder of this school year and we, like so many others, look forward to the day when we can resume our athletic activities.
